Wheat Grass Juice - A Remarkable Gift from Nature

We can call it the king of juices. The Wheat Grass juice is a fabulous gift from nature to mankind. As it is said “All Big Things Come in Small Packages” and Wheat Grass is a no exception. It is packed with natural vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and enzymes that are required for the body and make it an ideal food supplement for dieters, athletes or anyone suffering from illness.

Dr. Ann Wigmore - Patron of Wheat Grass Juice

This miracle drink was discovered by Dr. Ann Wigmore, a nutritionist and holistic health practitioner in the United States, better known as “the mother of living foods”. She founded the Hipocrates Health Institute in 1968 and had pioneered the use of Wheat Grass juice and other living foods for detoxifying and healing the body and mind. The lady herself was living proof of Wheat Grass therapy. Having learned that she had a colon cancer she switched to a completely living food lifestyle. Surprisingly within a year she was fully recovered. The lady always look 10 to 15 years younger than what she was. Unfortunately she died in Boston on February 16, 1994 of smoke inhalation from a fire at her center. But there are a number of institutes who are still in operation today and carry forward her work by offering educational programs, home study courses, recipes, books, and other resources.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Benefits of Wheat Grass Juice

The Wheat grass juice is the richest source of living chlorophyll that is available on earth. The rich vitamin A content in the juice is very good for eyes, dry skin and dandruff. It also gives luster and vitality to hair. Its vitamin C makes blood pure and increases immunity. The calcium content gives strength to the teeth and bones while sodium helps the liver to keep blood alkaline. Its vitamin E and potassium are called the youth elements because of their anti-aging properties. The juice increases the haemoglobin content of blood giving the skin a healthy glow. How to Grow Wheat Grass at Home

Though you can always obtain organic and fresh Wheat Grass from your nearest health food store or naturopathic clinic, it’s a better idea to grow it for yourself at home. It’s quite easy to do.
Take 3-4 plastic cafeteria tray or earthen pots and fill them with clear wet black soil. Soak the wheat berries for 10-12 hours. Then drain and pat them on to the soil. Put another tray over the top to keep the light out and let the moisture inside. Starting four days later, water your sprouts daily and keep them in light until they are 7-inches high. Now it’s time to harvest your grass. Just cut it above the soil and you can store it in the refrigerator for about a week. Obtain the juice using a manual or electrical juicer. You can take 15 ml of concentrated juice or a glass of diluted juice daily. It is better to take it on an empty stomach in the morning and as fresh as possible.
